Ağdam-Hankendi demiryolu hattındaki çalışmaların bu yıl sonuna kadar tamamlanması planlanıyor. Bu, Bakü-Ağdam tren güzergahının Bakü-Hankendi yönü ile değiştirilmesine olanak tanıyacak Azerbaycan Demiryolları CJSC Başkanı Rovshan Rustamov bunu REAL ve AZERTAC TV kanallarına verdiği röportajda söyledi “Here I would like to draw attention to one point: we carry out the railway flight from Baku to Agdam on the 32-kilometer Yevlakh-Barda section along tracks laid back in the 1960s. This does not meet modern requirements both in terms of safety and comfort. Therefore, we are already starting to completely modernize the road from Yevlakh to Barda, so that by the time the Agdam-Khankendi line is ready, we can deliver our passengers from Baku to Khankendi in a more convenient and safe way. In this regard, from this month the operation of the Baku-Agdam train will be temporarily suspended; after the completion of the infrastructure, the road will be put into operation in complete safety,” he said According to him, in addition, after completion of work on electrification and signaling in the northern direction, it is planned to open a daily route to expand the geography of interregional passenger transportation: “It is also planned to launch a daily Baku-Khankendi flight and expand the geography of railway traffic in the direction of other regions, increasing the number of trains.”
